Hello, Oregonian2012, and welcome to the Simple English Wiktionary!

We hope you will be happy editing here. Some helpful pages to begin with are Wiktionary:Community Portal, Wiktionary:Useful, Help:Contents, Wiktionary:Rules, Wiktionary:How to change a page, and Help:Creating a new entry.

If you want to talk with other members or ask a question, you can visit Wiktionary:Simple talk. Administrators can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. Just remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

Good luck and happy editing! Hydriz (talk) 15:03, 10 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

SIMPLE English

[change]

Thank you for your edits. Please, keep in mind that this is the SIMPLE English wiktionary. Additions like displays erosion of his moral values are not a good match for the project goals. Also, please note that your additions to the headword degeneration should have been added under degenerate.--Brett (talk) 01:11, 13 May 2012 (UTC)Reply

curb

[change]

Hello there!

I've just fixed up curb a bit and now compared it to the English Wiktionary version. Especially the verb section is a simple copy of the enwikt's entry, which is not simple at all. Would you mind to try to fix that yourself actually? I also don't always have good ideas for sentences and this entry belongs to that group.

Also, another very important note, if you directly copy over things from a different wiki, then you have to correctly attribute this. That means you need to at least put in an edit summary saying from where you got that information, preferable with a link. That is not really needed for pronunciation stuff as this can be found in other dictionaries as well, but the explanations and examples for usage should be attribute. Just for further reference. Keep up your work here and have fun editing! -Barras talk 20:17, 23 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Take measures

[change]

Hi Oregonian2012! Some of your pages, like this one. Did not fit correctly (in my opinion) and please add a template (such as if it was a noun, add {{noun}}). Thank you so much for your consideration. --Take a trip with Rani Rani 20:53, 16 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

In addition to what Raninghai said, I would recommend that you take a quick look at either Help:Creating a new entry or Wiktionary:Entry layout explained. I think it will help explain the format of entries. πr2 (talk • changes) 20:58, 16 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Formatting

[change]

Please take a look at WT:SE and please follow the formatting rules lain out there. Also, please remember that this is a dictionary, and sum of part entries, such as gentleman farmer, are not allowed as they are pretty self-explanatory. It's like adding an entry for these two words combined: white car. It is extremely obvious as to what it is and does not add anything to the project. Please don't make entries like that in the future. Thank you, Razorflame 03:45, 28 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Please make sure that edits that you make are in Simple English. A lot of your most recent changes are, shall we say, not in Simple English. Please be more careful in the future. Razorflame 23:48, 31 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

Comment for simpler writing

[change]

Hi Oregonian2012, it is good to see you supporting your Wikipedia articles by creating needed words here. One small comment I think would make your definitions better, remove the unnecessary words. For example, you wrote "If you have a statuette, you have a small statue." It would be simpler to write "A statuette is a small statue."--Peterdownunder (talk) 23:43, 6 August 2013 (UTC)Reply
