Hello, EhJJ, and welcome to the Simple English Wiktionary!

We hope you are happy editing here. Some helpful pages to begin with are Wiktionary:Community Portal, Wiktionary:Useful, Help:Contents, Wiktionary:Rules, and Wiktionary:How to edit.

If you want to talk with other members or ask a question, you can visit Wiktionary:Simple talk. Administrators can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. Just remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

Good luck and happy editing! Razorflame 04:48, 1 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Mediation

[change]

Hi there. I've deleted your redirect that you created from Mediation to mediation because if you were to search for Mediation using the seearch bar on the left hand side of your screen, MediaWiki would already redirect to that page, even if no redirect on Mediation exists. Under that basis, I've found your new redirect to not be needed, and therefore, have deleted it. Hope you understand! Cheers, Razorflame 04:50, 1 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

OK. I created the redirect after getting to Mediation from w:Wikipedia:Solving disputes. In general, how would this work if someone put a link in Simple English Wikipedia to wikt:Example? Would they get to example or Example (and if the latter, it seems they are not redirected to the actual word). EhJJ 05:08, 1 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
If that is the case, the link on the Simple English Wikipedia would need to be fixed because Wiktionary tries to avoid unnessecary redirects if at all possible. I would change the link from upper to lower case (this wouldn't affect the word if it is uppercase after the pipelink). Hope this helps :). Cheers, Razorflame 05:14, 1 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

My bot would like use your bots output

[change]

I am working on another kind of list bot. I would like to get a formated output of your bot to throw in the lists. See here This unsigned comment was added by TeacherJeff (talk • contribs) .

Certainly, you'll just need to tell me how you'd like the information formatted. I don't understand what your page is about. EhJJTALK 14:24, 1 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Twinkle

[change]

Hi EhJJ, I hope you are having a good time here on Simple English Wiktionary. However, one of your user scripts, Twinkle, is not working well for me. Could you please check the errors of it? Thanks! Hydriz (talk) 12:18, 26 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

It looks like SE wiktionary is missing some of the templates that Twinkle uses. Options to fix this are:
  1. Create all missing templates (or have an admin copy them over, en-mass)
  2. Create redirects to currently existing templates
  3. Change Twinkle code to use existing templates
I'm sorta semi-retired while busy in my fourth-year of med school, so I don't have time for option #3 right now (not that I'd object to anyone changing the code). The first two are options you are welcome to explore. I assume this is the problem to which you are referring, since you didn't provide a specific (or general) example. Quick deletion of User:EhJJ/test

[change]

The page you wrote, User:EhJJ/test, has been selected for quick deletion. This is because the page was a test page. If you think this page should be kept, please add {{wait}} below the line {{QD}} and say why on the talk page. If the page is already gone, but you think this was an error, you can ask for it to be undeleted. EhJJTALK 22:24, 26 November 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for experimenting with the page User:EhJJ/test on Wiktionary. Your test worked, but because it had things in it which did not help improve the page, it was hence removed. Please use the sandbox if you would like to do more tests. You may also want to read the welcome page to learn about helping the Simple English Wiktionary. Thank you.
