What is the purpose of replacing the sign used in one part of the world with the sign used in another?--Brett (talk) 12:00, 11 April 2014 (UTC)
- Care to tell me which signs you are talking about? All I have done is replace one version of the Irish warning signs with a superior counterpart. I have not replaced one country's sign with a sign from a different country. Fry1989 (talk) 17:07, 11 April 2014 (UTC)
- The previous version appears to be the sign used in much of North America, including Ontario. The current one clearly isn't, though I assume it is the official Irish sign. Since the word has nothing at all to do with Ireland, though, what's the point of replacing the illustration?--Brett (talk) 18:03, 11 April 2014 (UTC)
- I'll use the change on split as an example. File:Diamond road sign lane splits.png and File:W100 Start of Passing Lane - Warning Sign Ireland.png are the same sign. While the first one doesn't mention "Ireland" in it's file name, in the upload log the file's author stated "Image depicting warning road sign in the Republic of Ireland; ....". The second file however is a more accurate version of the sign, it closer matches the diagram from Chapter 6 of the Irish Traffic Signs Manual. Quite often files are replaced all over projects when a new superior or more accurate version of the image is available. That is simply what I have done here.
