Proper noun
Satanism

  1. A small religion started by Anton LaVay in the United States. Satanism teaches selfishness (caring only about yourself), materialism (only things mater), indulgence (enjoying things), and amorality (no difference between good and bad). Its followers use Satan (the Christian devil) to stand for these ideas, for being an animal, and for being against other religions. (They do not believe in a real devil.)
  2. Any religion (real or not real) that worships or follows Satan.
