Help:Searching
Appearance
- See also Wikimedia's Meta-Wiki for this page.
- MediaWiki search tools
You can search Wiktionary using the search box on the left.
- The Go button will take you to an article with the exact title entered in the search box.
- The Search button generates a list of articles containing the words entered using the Lucene search. To search for a phrase, enclose it in quotes. Once on the search page, you can select "Exact-case search" to use the more advanced diacritics-folding option.
You can also find words by following the 'quick links' on the Main Page.
- External tools
Another option is using external search engines:
- Browser plugins
Mozilla Firefox users can install a search plugin for Wiktionary from mycroft.mozdev.org, which uses this site's search function.
- Bookmarklets
There's also a bookmarklet available. See Wiktionary:Tips and tricks/Bookmarklets for that.
