Hello, Jianhui67, and welcome to the Simple English Wiktionary!
We hope you will be happy editing here. Some helpful pages to begin with are Wiktionary:Community Portal, Wiktionary:Useful, Help:Contents, Wiktionary:Rules, Wiktionary:How to change a page, and Help:Creating a new entry.
If you want to talk with other members or ask a question, you can visit Wiktionary:Simple talk. Administrators can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. Just remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.
Using the accelerator[change]
Be careful creating verbs with the accelator code. If the word ends in an "e", it does not create correct spellings. For example it adds endings after the "e", so with "drizzle" it created "drizzleed" and "drizzleing". To fix this problem, you need to make an addition the verb template so "drizzle" would be entered as "drizzl|e". The accelator then creates the correct spelling. I fixed drizzle, so have a look at the edit page to see what I mean. I hope this makes sense. --Peterdownunder (talk) 05:05, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
- Okay. I will be more careful next time. Jianhui67 (talk) 09:24, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
Explanations vs glosses[change]
In general, the preferred style here is to give full-sentence explanations rather than phrasal glosses. See my changes as slacker if it's not clear what I man.--Brett (talk) 06:41, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
- Okay. I will take note of this and give explanations in full sentences next time. Sorry for the trouble. I will recheck and correct the ones I created. Jianhui67 talk★contribs 07:21, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
- I have corrected some of them on my phone. I will continue on my computer on Wednesday since my phone has run out of battery. Jianhui67 talk★contribs 07:36, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
