I started with Wikipedia and then the general English Wiktionary. I have come to write more at the Simple Enlgish wiktionary because I have noticed many strange holes in the content. (General English has many writers and few holes.) I can be found at: http://www.facebook.com/jared.blackburn1
I have bookmarked these pages:
|A a||/æ/||/e/ or /eɪ/|
|E e||/ɛ /||/iː/|
|O o||/ɑ/||/o/ or /oʊ/|
|U u||/ʌ/ or /ə/||/uː/|
- Extended Basic English alphabetical wordlist
- Asked for meanings
- Move to Wiktionary
- Pages linked from Wikipedia
- General Service Word List
- Most frequent 1000 words in English
- ...and words like them.
- "Most Wanted" (most linked too?)
- Another list of lists
I hope I can help add these words if I have time. I also like to fill in groups of related words.
I say I only know Simple-2 because I'm not always sure what is too simple or not simple enough; I usually make mistakes on the side of caution. I say I know German-0 because I have realized how bad my German really is.
I may tried to make new pages better when people make them. I learned a lot by reading other peoples pages. I also learned a lot from seeing how other people changed my pages. I hope people will see my changes as a way to learn too.
