Synonyms[change]

The problem with ambuscade is that it's far too rare to be of any help. Ambush appears as about 1250 times per million words where ambuscade appears about 6. I'd never even heard of the word before, and it even appears to be somewhat unfamiliar to Pmlinediter, who added it as a verb though it seems to be more common as a noun. It's not even in the major learner's dictionaries (Longman, Oxford, Cambridge, MW).--Brett 16:13, 21 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
