... and by the way, right now we have a Word Drive to try to get 2000 words by Aug. 4. Only 19 words left to go! (see number of words on Main Page.) Who will have the glory of writing word definition number 2000? --Coppertwig 01:15, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think we did it! I think there are now 2000 words, and that dependent by Isis, or a word before that, was word number 2000. It takes a few hours for the word counter on the main page to catch up. Congratulations! --Coppertwig 14:37, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

See reply at User talk:Coppertwig#2000 words?!. --Coppertwig 14:59, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Here -- passed to you by me from Brett:

Congratulations! And thanks!

Editing suggestions[change]

Hi, Isis

  • The template {{noun}}, {{verb}}, etc. at the top includes a part of speech category, so please don't include a separate category like [[Category:Nouns]]. Of course, other semantic categories, such as colour or something would have to be hand coded.
  • For AWL words, please include the {{AWL}} tag at the top of the page.
  • For verbs, please use the heading ==Verb== rather than ==transitive verb== and indicate the valence at the beginning of the line for each sense using {{transitive verb}}, {{intransitive verb}}, or {{TI verb}} for one that can be both.
  • Try to list the various sense from most common to least common. For example, with release, you had the noun before the verb even though the verb is more common. Also, your first sense for the verb is "to lease again", which is certainly not a common sense at all.

I hope these are helpful suggestions. If you'd like more detailed information on getting information (e.g., to see whether a verb or a noun is more common or finding common collocates) let me know.--Brett 15:15, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I'm very pleased that you've decided to work on AWL words.--Brett 15:25, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Monolingual[change]

Simple English Wiktionary is monolingual. As such, there are no language headings such as ==English==. Furthermore, translations are not included.--Brett 00:31, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, sorry. Thanks. I'll remember that in the future. :) --Isis 15:42, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
