Dewjigger and jewdigger have been a slang term in some southern families. I have heard both used when the user could not think of the name of some little thing so they would say, "Would you hand me that dewjigger over there?". I fear that the term "Jewdigger" is a fruedian slip for a racial biased poke at Jewish people or African Americans but I hope not. So if anyone has an idea where this term originated please help define it.
