In physics, "displacement" means the distance (and direction) that something moves. I don't remember seeing it used to mean the amount of water moved. I see that English Wiktionary has that definition, but they don't call it a physics definition. --Coppertwig 16:47, 28 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
