Made an edit for the noun sense of this word which is also available on https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/belchings but gets deleted. Any reason as to why? Mojaam (talk) 03:29, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

That was an error at en.wiktionary. While you can certainly say, his belching disturbed me, the fact is that you can us the -ing form of practically any verb in this manner. This is not a reason to start adding a noun entry to every verb. Consider, various other dictionaries aimed at language learners. Consider also, that, unlike nouns, it can be readily modified by an adverb: his belching profusely during dinner was ghastly.--Brett (talk) 11:05, 27 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
