I'm confused by the last c--Jared 22:40, 28 May 2008 (UTC)hange. Even though the two can overlap in things they describe ("serving as a soldier" and "serving your country"), I don't see how serving someone and serving as something are the same. To "serve the president" is not the same thing as to "serve as president"! --Jared 12:49, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you are serving as president, you are still serving someone: in this case, the people. You are working for them in the capacity of president.--Brett 13:17, 22 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but I still see difference between telling who you sever and telling how you serve. These seem like related but still difference uses. "I serve the local Red Cross," and "I serve as service coordinator," are slightly different meanings. --Jared 22:40, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
