Talk:formulæ
Should we be using symbols such as æ given that this is the Simple English Wiktionary? Maybe it would be better to write it as formulae without the special character. What do you guys think? Razorflame 00:00, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- I was also surprised to see this. Thought that we are simple, I think we don't really need it. However, please consider to propose it for deletion to see what our community thinks. -Barras talk 09:41, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- The proposal for deletion page here doesn't work very well because of how few editors there are. Therefore, it would be best if we just discuss a better alternative, which would be to move this to formulae and leave this as a redirect. Does that seem like a good idea? - But things on RfD get archived, if we would decide to delete this page, this discussion would be deleted as well. If this article will be proposed for deletion, I take care that people notice that there is something (mass pings on IRC). - I do not think that this is a big enough deal to bring to the RFD. It just needs to be talked about to see whether or not it should be redirected to formulae and moved there. Razorflame 21:49, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
- My thoughts were simple; if an individual that was still learning English saw this in a sentence, e.g., "the mathematical formulæ of these...", and they copy/pasted the unfamiliar word, "formulæ" into SimpleWt, they should get a page. As a red-link, the user is still left wondering exactly what that might mean, which is why I created the page.
