No, it's clearly a noun. Compare *He stood alone on the long of the tarmac. Here long is obviously wrong, and that's because an adjective can't fit in that slot. The nounlength, however, would be fine.--Brett (talk) 11:48, 16 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
