"Liberty Bound or Liberty Bond? U Can Change It"

Design for poster promoting sale of Liberty Bonds to finance USA government World War I effort. By James Hart, ca. 1917-18. Ink over pencil on paper. Original is 26" x 16 1/2". Artwork shows Columbia tied to a stake while figures with heads of dollar coins cut her bonds with swords; background shows ruined building and smoke.
